Here is what I learned in my Calvin Philosophy class. If Pete is a man and man is alive; Pete is alive. So like a good Calvin thinker, I should apply this abstract thinking to my life right? Here goes. If it snows in Michigan every year, and if we need snow gear to stay warm in the snow; every year we should need snow gear. Right? Here is another one. If children grow, and clothes don't; children need new clothes.

So rewind to last weekend. It snowed. It is November, a time where it often snows. What do I do Sunday night? Frantically go through last year's snow stuff to see what still fits my children. Of course, nothing does. No hand me downs for Abby (there was 2 years for Hanna we got by with the same stuff) and nothing for Hanna. So I go to my favorite winter stand by, LL Bean and order 2 pairs of boots, 2 coats, 1 pair of snow pants and 1 pair of gloves all in various shades of pink and purple. Friday morning the box arrives. Of course it is a great size box since it has to fit to smaller boot boxes inside plus all the other bulky winter stuff.

So all day Friday what does Abby do? Play in the box. All morning Saturday what to both girls do? Play with the boxes. These boxes have been Barbie beds, My Little Pony stables, hide and go seek spots, ice skates, sleeping bags, you get the drift. I know people always say they like the box better than the toy and the joke gets a little old, but seriously. They really like the box better than the toy!

So after we spent hundreds of dollars on boxes, we decided to shell out 10 more and spend the morning at Play World. Now if you have not been to play world it is a child's dream, slide, tunnels, jumping cages, bottomless pits of balls, play houses, popcorn.... So my kids are happily entertained by this for sometime, but when it comes down to it, they spent the most time running around, under and through the benches and tables set out for the adults. They would rather slither around on a dirty floor than slide down a 12 foot blow up slide. What is the matter with children these days!
