Peace

This week we are sitting down to a great family supper, Josh made a roast (and to keep the children happy there may have also been a batch of mac and cheese) We are talking and laughing and sharing one of those rare family moments at dinner where no one is complaining, bickering, begging, crying...

Abby out of the blue, holds up her two fingers in a "peace" sign and says:
"Peace means stop fighting."
Yeah, I think, she listens to her mother who is all about peace (world peace, peace of mind, peace and quite...)
Hanna then butts in "Peace means to be kind"
Right again, my heart swells
"And" Hanna adds "Don't do wars"
I am ready to burst with pride, then inevitably things start going down hill.
"Abby, (insert snotty Hanna voice) Peace means be quiet"
"I know Hanna (insert know-it-all Abby voice), peace means hang up magnets"
Followed by Hanna who says in mean and instigating voice "It means don't ever fight and don't be mean to others"
Sigh, all this talk of peace sure has caused a lot of distress...
